Biography
Agnes Boström was born in Tarasjönäs, Ramsele Municipality, Västernorrland County, Sweden on 29 April 1912 as the fifth of eight children born to Erik-Petter and Anna-Marta Abrahamsson. Remarkably, her mother lived to be 98 years old.
Even at the age of 109, Agnes continued to maintain an independent lifestyle, living alone in her apartment. Following the death of 112-year-old Flarid Lagerlund on 9 April 2022, Agnes Boström became the oldest known living person born in Sweden.
Currently residing in Alandsbro, Vasternorrland County, Sweden, she holds the position as the second-oldest known living person in Sweden, behind Gunborg Hancock. Agnes’s longevity stands as a testament to a life well-lived and continues to inspire those around her.
