Agnes Boström was born on April 29, 1912, in Tarasjönäs, Ramsele Municipality, Västernorrland County, Sweden, is the fifth of eight children born to Erik-Petter and Anna-Marta Abrahamsson. Remarkably, her mother lived to be 98 years old.

Even at the age of 109, Agnes continued to maintain an independent lifestyle, living alone in her apartment. Following the passing of 112-year-old Flarid Lagerlund on April 9, 2022, Agnes Boström became the oldest known living person born in Sweden.

Currently residing in Alandsbro, Vasternorrland County, Sweden, she holds the position as the second-oldest known living person in Sweden, surpassed only by Gunborg Hancock. Agnes’s longevity stands as a testament to a life well-lived and continues to inspire those around her.

Agnes’s remarkable age has been meticulously examined and verified by Victor Bjoerk, GRG Correspondent for Sweden, Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and Oliver Trim, with validation by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on June 27, 2023.
