Age validation of Ida Mae Jackson (1877-1991)
Ida Mae Logan was born August 2 1877 in Montgomery County, Alabama, USA to James and Sarah Logan. She had at least two siblings. On October 17 1906, Ida married Thomas Moses Jackson in Montgomery County. By 1910 the couple had moved to California, first settling in San Francisco. They had one child together – a son named Thomas Jr.
Ida sadly lost her son on November 2 1945, followed by her husband on April 29 1962. Being now in her 80’s, Ida did not remarry after losing Thomas.
From at least 1930 until her passing, Ida lived in Berekley, Alameda County, California. She passed away there on January 12 1991, aged 113 years, 163 days.
Validation of age
Although Ida claimed to be born in 1880 towards the end of her life, documents throughout her life point to her being born in 1877. These include the 1880 and 1900 censuses crucially, although later censuses also support birth before 1880.
