Masao Kadoguchi, the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture, dies at 110

The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is sadden to reported that Mr. Masao Kadoguchi (門口正雄), the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, sadly passed away in Nagasaki City on 27 January 2026 at the final age of 110 years and 142 days.

Masao Kadoguchi was born in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, on 7 September 1915 (Taishō 4).

On 23 April 2025, following the death of an anonymous 109-year-old woman in Nagasaki City, Kadoguchi became the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.

On 7 September 2025, Kadoguchi celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Kadoguchi’s age was verified by Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, Japan and Brian Hsu, and validated by the GRG on 9 October 2025.

Masao Kadoguchi passed away in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, on 27 January 2026, at the age of 110 years and 142 days. His funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on 30 January 2026.

Following Kadoguchi’s death, then 109-year-old Motome Nakamura (中村モトメ, born 1 December 1916) of Isahaya City (諫早市) became the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.
