Jadwiga Żak-Stewart of Poland (1912?-2026)

It is with sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Jadwiga Żak-Stewart of Łódź, Łódź Voivodeship, Poland, at the claimed age of 113. Following her passing, Anna Winiarska of Huta Gogołowska, Subcarpathia Voivodeship, born Feb. 23, 1915, aged 110, becomes the unchallenged Doyenne of Poland.

Jadwiga Żak-Stewart claims to have been born in Poland on 15 July 1912. In the 1980s, she decided to move to the USA. At the age of 100, she decided to return to Poland. She was fully independent until late senility, and maintained very strong character, and sense of humor.

At age 104, Jadwiga Żak-Stewart decided to move to a senior home, where she was surrounded by caring care and love. Thanks to this, she enjoyed good health and well-being.

Mrs. Żak-Stewart’s longevity and life story are now under investigation by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) to validate her age in accordance with scientific standards.
