Italy’s oldest resident turns 115

The Gerontology Research Group is happy to share news that Lucia Laura Sangenito, known as Laurina, is celebrating her 115th birthday today.

Laurina was born on November 22 1910 in Sturno, Campania, Italy. She married and had two children.

She still resides in Sturno, aged 115. Laurina is the oldest known living person in Italy, the third oldest known living person in Europe and the fourth oldest known living person in the world.

Congratulations to Laurina on reaching such an incredible milestone. The GRG sends warm greetings and wishes for good health and happiness going forward.
