Oldest person in Texas passes away at 114

The Gerontology Research Group is sad to relay news that Winnie Felps of Texas has passed away at the age of 114.

Winnie Lee Powell was born on October 10 1911 in Coryell County, Texas. In 1935 she married Ralph Felps, remaining married for 47 years until Ralph’s passing in 1982. They had eight children together.

In October 2021 she celebrated her 110th birthday, the first of five supercentenarian birthdays.

Winnie passed away in Leander, Texas on November 20 2025, aged 114 years, 41 days. She was the oldest known living resident of Texas and the third oldest known living person in the US before her passing.

The GRG extends it’s sincere condolences to the family, friends and all who knew Mrs Felps. Comfort can be found in her extraordinarily long life and happy family memories.
