The oldest man in France, Maurice Lecoutour, turned 111

The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is delighted to report that Mr Maurice Lecoutour has celebrated his 111 birthday on 12.05.2025.

Maurice Lecoutour was born in Gouberville, Normandy, France on 12 May 1914. His father Edouard was a carpenter and his mother a housewife. He worked as a secretary at the Tocqueville dairy and then a school bus driver. He retired at the age of 65.

He became the oldest known living man in France, following the death of 112-year-old Georges Thomas on 1 June 2024.

In May 2024, he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Maurice Lecoutour currently lives in Barfleur, Manche, Normandy, France at the age of 111 years.
