It is with pleasure that we announce Jadwiga Żak-Stewart of Łódź, Łódź Voivodeship, Poland, celebrated her 112th birthday. The remarkable occasion was marked by a visit from Wacław Jan Kroczek, the GRG Poland and Nordic Countries Correspondent. Mrs. Żak-Stewart’s longevity and life story are now under investigation by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) to validate her age in accordance with scientific standards. The GRG aims to authenticate her age using early, middle, and late-life evidence, as outlined by Dr. Michel Poulain.

Jadwiga Żak-Stewart claims to have been born in Poland on 15 July 1912. In the 1980s, she decided to move to the USA. At the age of 100, she decided to return to Poland. She was fully independent until late senility, and maintained very strong character, and sense of humor today.

At age 104, Jadwiga Żak-Stewart decided to move to a senior home, where she is surrounded by caring care and love. Thanks to this, she enjoys good health and well-being.
