Zoraida del Carmen Montezuma Ortega, known as Zoraida Montezuma, was born in Limon, Costa Rica on October 31 1913. She was christened on November 23 1913 in the presence of her parents; Juan Montezuma and Luisa Ortega.
In October 2023, Zoraida celebrated her 110th birthday, gaining supercentenarian status. She is currently the oldest known and age-validated person in Costa Rica, since the death of Marita Camacho Quiros on June 20 2025.
Zoraida currently lives in San Jose Province, Costa Rica, at age 112.
