Biography

Tomas Pinales Figuereo was born on March 31 1906 in Bajos de Haina, San Cristobal Province, Dominican Republic, to parents Juan Pablo Pinales and Maria Francisca Figuereo. He was baptized on August 18 1906.

He married Graciela Santos and went on to have ten children.

In March 2016 he celebrated his 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.

In 2017, upon the death of Efrain Nunez, Tomas became the oldest man ever from the Dominican Republic.

In 2019, upon the death of Masazo Nonaka, he became the oldest living man in the world whose age is now validated. He was not recognized as the oldest living man until after his death.

Tomas passed away on September 24 2020, aged 114 years, 177 days, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
