On June 27 1937 she married Lewis Koplon in Cook County, Illinois. They had no known children. Lewis passed away in July 1986, after which Lea never remarried. At some point after this she moved to Arizona.

In November 2023 she turned 110, becoming a supercentenarian.

Lea passed away on February 20 2024 in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona, aged 110 years, 85 days.
