Emilio Flores Marquez was born on August 8 1908 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, to parents Alberto Flores and Margarita Marquez.
On July 25 1935, Emilio married Andrea Pérez, going on to have four children together. Andrea passed away in 2011, leaving Emilio a widower. They were married for 75 years.
In August 2018 he turned 110, gaining status as a supercentenarian.
Emilio passed away on August 12 2021 in Trujillo Alto, aged 113 years, 4 days. He had been the world’s oldest known living age-validated man from September 2020 until his passing.
