Biography
Ellenor (“Ella”) Galbraith was born in Rogerville, Hawkins County, Tennessee, USA, on December 6 1884 (claimed 1880) to parents Nicholas (“Nick”) and Clara (nee Bevins) Galbraith.
On November 5 1908 she married Isaac Bert Miller in Hamilton County, Ohio. The couple had no children together. Isaac passed away on July 14 1936, after which Ella never remarried.
At some point after 1950 she moved to Virginia. In December 1994 she became a supercentenarian on reaching her 110th birthday, although she already claimed to hold this status.
Ella passed away in Vienna, Fairfax County, Virginia, on November 21 2000, aged 115 years, 351 days. She was the oldest known and age-validated person in the world before her passing.

Validation
Her age was verified by the United States (SSA)/Kestenbaum study and validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on December 12 2002.
Date of birth
Ella claimed to be born in December 1880, but this is disputed by much evidence. Her Social Security correspondence gives her a year of birth of 1884, as does the 1900 census and some other census entries. No birth record has ever been found for her, which isn’t unusual for the time period, so the GRG decided to validate her with an 1884 year of birth. The earliest evidence available gives much weight to this.
