Biography
Elizabeth (“Betty”) Imbrie was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA, on January 28 1914 to parents Charles and Margaret Imbrie.
She met her husband, Reinald Werrenrath Jr. at a dance in 1933, and they got married on July 31 1937. They then moved to New York City, followed by a move to Illinois in 1940. Their first daughter, Kirsten, was born in 1941. Her husband served in the navy from 1942 to 1945. During this time, Betty moved back to New York with her daughter.
Reinald passed away in 2019 at the age of 104, after 82 years of marriage.
In January 2024 she became a supercentenarian on turning 110.
Betty currently lives in Evanston, Illinois, at the age of 112.
