Biography
Imako Yokoyama (known as “Dorothy”) was born in Kona, Hawaii, USA, on September 14 1911 to parents Hachigoro Yokoyama and Tsune Kuwada.
On July 16 1931 she married Walter Yoshitoki Yoshimura in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. They had at least two children together. Walter passed away on January 28 2001, leaving Dorothy a widow for her remaining years.
In September 2021 she became a supercentenarian on celebrating her 110th birthday.
Dorothy passed away in Hilo, Hawaii, on February 24 2024, aged 112 years, 163 days.
