Biography

Bruno Kant was born in Werblin, Kashubia, Prussia, German Empire (now Poland), on February 26 1916.

During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. He became a Soviet captive, being released in 1948. In 1950, after the war, he was ordained as a priest, a dream he had apparently had since the age of nine. Bruno was active as a priest until the age of 100, now taking a quieter role.

In February 2026 he turned 110, becoming a supercentenarian and receiving congratulations from the Pope. Bruno passed away in Eichenzell, Hesse, Germany, at age 110 years, 92 days, on May 29 2026.
