Biography

Alfreda Mary Marwick was born in York, Western Australia, on July 28 1913 to parents Joseph Walker and Mary Ellen (nee Gurney) Marwick.

In 1939 she married Charles Norman Screaigh in York. They went on to have one child together – a daughter. Charles passed away on September 26 1985, after which Alfreda never remarried.

She turned 110 in July 2023, gaining supercentenarian status.

Alfreda passed away in Madurah, Western Australia, on March 8 2024, aged 110 years, 224 days.
