Biography
Silverio Pereira Ayala was born in Ybycui, Paraguari, Paraguay on 11 June 1906 (claimed 1907). In June 2017, he also had a living sister, Anastacia, who lived in Ybycui and was aged around 100 years old at that time. Both Silverio and his brother, Juan, were ex-combatants of the Chaco War (1932–1935) and later moved to Natalio, Itapua Department. Silverio never married nor had children.
Until the age of 80, he used to eat a lot of beef, but after he only ate chicken thighs, cakes made of corn and milk with biscuits.
Silverio died in Natalio, Itapua Department, Paraguay on 30 May 2018 at the age of 111 (claimed 110) years, 353 days. He lived with his brother, Juan Jose, and his brother’s granddaughter, Zunilda. His younger brother, Juan Jose Pereira Ayala (1913 – 26 October 2018), lived to the age of 105.
