Pearl Cornelsen was born in Jansen, Nebraska, USA on December 25, 1900. Her parents were Nicholas Eidse Reimer and Liebe (née Probull) Reimer. She was one of 10 siblings. Her father died in 1948 at the age of 82 and her mother died in 1926 at the age of 62. She married Henry Cornelsen on March 15, 1925. The couple did not have any children. She was widowed in 1965. Cornelsen died in Reedley, California, USA on February 11, 2013 at the age of 112 years, 48 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in California behind Soledad Mexia (1899-2013).
