Biography
Pearl Louise Synenberg was born in Pigeon Township, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, California, USA, on October 1 1909 to parents Archibald (“Archie”) Andrew and Anna (nee Gerson) Synenberg. She had previously believed herself to have been born in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, on February 14 1910.
By 1920 the family were living in Pennsylvania and by 1930 had settled in California. On December 16 1931 she married Mark Fein Berg there in Los Angeles County, going on to have two children together. Mark passed away on December 29 1989, after which Pearl remained a widow.
In October 2019 she celebrated her 110th birthday, gaining status as a supercentenarian. This was to be the first of five such occasions.
Pearl passed away in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, on February 1 2024 at the age of 114 years, 123 days.

Date of birth
Pearl and her family had previously believed she was born in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, on February 14 1910. However, an original birth certificate was found that proved she was born in Indiana on October 1 1909.
