Biography
Morris (known as “Morrie”) Markoff was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York, USA, on January 11 1914 to parents Max and Rose (nee Kaplan) Markoff.
In the 1930’s he moved to California. There he married Rebecca (“Betty”) Goldmintz on November 9 1938. The couple went on to have at least two children together. Betty passed away at the age of 103 on September 21 2019 after eighty years of marriage, leaving Morrie a widower for his remaining years.
In January 2024 he became a supercentenarian on celebrating his 110th birthday.
Morrie passed away in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, on June 3 2024 at the age of 110 years, 144 days.
