Biography
Mary MacIsaac was born as Mary MacNair in Nash Creek on Baie de Chaleur, New Brunswick to Nathaniel and Mary (née Splude) MacNair.
She attended St. Francis Xavier University and spent her early teaching career at schools in Gull Lake, Mikado and Wolseley, Saskatchewan.
In 1917 she met her husband, Jack MacIsaac, in Wolseley. Two years later, in 1919, they married in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and settled in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, where she continued to teach. She had five children. In 1984, she moved to Saskatoon to live with her daughter, Elizabeth. She moved to St. Ann’s nursing care facility in Saskatoon in 2002 at the “tender” age of 108 and died at the age of 112 years, 73 days.
