Mary Gwendoline “Gwen” Moore claims to have been born in Tredegar, Wales, UK on November 27, 1911. However, the study performed by the Gerontology Research Group has proven that her actual date of birth was December 2, 1911. In the late 1960s, she migrated from the UK to Australia. Moore became the oldest known living person in Australia, following the death of 111-year old Ina Reid on May 13, 2022. At the time of her 111th birthday, Moore lived at the Bribie Cove nursing home in Bongaree, Queensland, Australia.
Her sister Lilian Priest (November 7, 1908 – June 6, 2021) who died in Swanage, Dorset, England, UK on June 6, 2021 at the age of 112 years, 211 days, was the oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death.
