She had five half-siblings and three siblings. She married George Asbury Carberry in Fall Branch, Tennessee, United States on January 17, 1905. The couple had five children: Vesta Hufford, Amy Jacobs, Reed Carberry, Fay Carberry, and Beulah Espy. She was widowed in 1956. Carberry was a member of Mount Zion Christian Church and a homemaker.

Lillie Maud Carberry died in Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, United States on January 16, 1997 at the age of 110 years, 336 days. At the time of her death, she had nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild
