Biography

Kayo Fujii was born on 12 March 1888 in Japan.

Fujii was widowed in 1966, and had one daughter.

She became bedridden after breaking her hip in 1985, and was admitted to the hospital in 1992. She died of pneumonia in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi, Japan at the age of 111 years, 147 days. After her death, Mie Ishiguro became the oldest living person in Japan.
