Josefa Llovet was born in Rellinars, Barcelona Province, Catalonia, Spain on 25 February 1867.
Following the death of 109-year-old Policarpa Perez Exposito on 18 March 1974, Llovet became the oldest (known) living person in Spain.
Following the death of 111-year-old Marie-Virginie Duhem on 25 April 1978, Llovet may have become the oldest living person in Europe (being older than Katharina Braun, Frederique Noel, and Florence Pannell, who would be her successor).
Llovet died in Sant Andreu de la Barca, Barcelona Province, Catalonia, Spain on 29 June 1979 at the age of 112 years, 124 days.
