Jennie Pattist was born in South Corinth, New York, USA on March 24, 1903. Her parents were William Towers (1862–1929) and Jennie (née Meyers) Towers (1863–1941). She had 12 siblings. She married John Pattist in Greenfield, New York on August 7, 1923. The couple had two children: John Pattist JR. (1926–1978) and Marjorie Barton (1932–2009). John died on March 3, 1991, after 67 years of marriage. Pattist was employed for a few years at the Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Corinth and was a member of a quilting club in Corinth for several years. She lived at Wesley Health Care Center. In 2003, she got a cane – the town’s Golden Cane – in honor of being the oldest resident of Corinth.
Jennie Pattist died in Saratoga Springs, New York, USA on January 5, 2014 at the age of 110 years, 287 days. She was survived by four grandchildren: Shawn Davis and her husband Bob Davis, Scott Barton, Aaron Barton and his companion Bonnie Norton, and Patrick Barton; three great-grandchildren: Jessica Davis, Karstie Burgess, and Timothy Barton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
