Jean Ley was born in Ettelbruck, Diekirch Canton, Luxembourg on 10 February 1903. He lived in Ettelbruck for all his life.
Ley lived his final days at the nursing home “Sacré Coeur” in Diekirch and was a widower since 2000 after 69 years of marriage. On his 110th birthday in 2013, he was visited by Luxembourg’s Family Minister Marie-Josee Jacobs, and the mayor of Ettelbruck.
Jean Ley died in Diekirch, Diekirch Canton, Luxembourg on 20 February 2013, at the age of 110 years, 10 days. His age was verified by Anthony Croes-Lacroix and Stefan Jamin, and validated by the GRG on 1 March 2015.
