Biography

Hilda Grahn was born in Södra Sandby, Lund kommun, Skåne län, Sweden, (then Malmöhus län) on 10 June 1888. In young age, she worked as a maid in Dalby, Skåne. There she met her husband Otto. Together they opened a glazing business in Eslöv. They had three children all of who she outlived. She had three grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later life, she was a resident of Staffanstorp before moving to Ringsjöhemmet care home in Höör.

Following the death of 109 year-old Clara Asberg on 27 August 1997, Grahn became the oldest living person in Sweden, a title she shared jointly with Teresia Lindahl of Norrahammar.

Grahn died in Höör, Höör kommun, Skåne län, Sweden on 24 June 1998 at the age of 110 years, 14 days.
