Hide Ohira was born in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan on 15 September 1880. She died in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan on 9 May 1995 at the age of 114 years, 236 days. She was Japan’s last survivor from the year 1880. However, due to Tane Ikai being older, she never became Japan’s oldest living person.
