Biography

Harriet Holm was born in Glemmen (then Glemminge) on November 13, 1893. She grew up in Geitmyrsveien in the current district of St. Hanshaugen and went to Mrs. Ragna Nielsen’s school. Harriet Holm lived at home on Snarøya until she was 102 years old. The last part of her life she lived at Adamstuen housing and service centre.

Harriet Holm became the Doyenne of Norway (the oldest living person in Norway) following the death of Olav Hovatn on April 26, 2003.

Harriet Holm died in Oslo, Olso fylke, Norway, on 22 December 2003, aged 110 years and 39 days. Harriet’s parents were bank tellers in Akers savings bank Christian Hagbert Holm, born in Drøbak on 14 April 1855 and Camilla Frederikke Holm, also born in Drøbak
