Gerda Olsen was born in København, København Municipality, Hovedstaden, Denmark. She spent a couple of years in the United States. On 16 March 2016, Gerda Muff was reported to be the third-oldest living person in Denmark (behind Signe Højer and Ellen Brandenborg) and the oldest of the Danish region of Hovedstaden. With Mrs. Muff’s 110th birthday, for the first time in the Danish history, there were three recognised simultaneously living supercentenarians in that Nordic country.
