Generosa Sales Ferreres was born on 4 January 1907 in Cervera del Maestre, Spain, to parents Salvador Bautista Sales and Rosa Ferreres Minana. Her mother died in 1948 and her father died in 1980 at the age of 98 or 99.
Generosa Sales Ferreres died in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, at the age of 111 years, 23 days. At the time of her death, she was the fourth-oldest known living person in Spain, behind Magdalena Oliver Gabarro, Francisco Nunez Olivera, and Josefa Santos Gonzalez.
