Caroline Campistron was born as Caroline Maurette Mauche in Paris, Île-de-France, France, on 27 May 1867.
On 5 February 1891, she married Bertrand Campistron, a jeweller, in Toulouse. She later moved to Charente-Maritime, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
On 27 May 1977, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.
Caroline Campistron died in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, on 2 March 1978, at the age of 110 years, 279 days. She was survived by two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in France, behind Marie-Virginie Duhem of Hauts-de-France.
