Andrée Bertoletto was born in La Chapelle-Anthenaise, Mayenne, Pays de la Loire, France, on January 1, 1911. She had one sister named Marie, as well as two brothers, Robert and Ernest. In 1913, she relocated to Montsurs, Mayenne, Pays de la Loire.
On May 25, 1935, in Montsurs, she tied the knot with Desire Alphonse Bertoletto, who was the head of a construction company. Sadly, she became a widow in 1978.
Bertoletto resided in her own home until the age of 105, when she endured a challenging night cleaning up after a flood. Subsequently, she moved to the nursing home called “La douceur de vivre” in Montsurs.
In January 2021, Bertoletto celebrated her 110th birthday, earning the prestigious status of a supercentenarian. At that time, she had 14 nephews, 30 grand-nephews, and 20 great-grand-nephews, having outlived three other nephews.
Following the passing of Marie-Louise Berthelot on January 17, 2021, Bertoletto became the oldest known living person in the Mayenne departement.
On August 17, 2023, the Gerontology Research Group, during the World Supercentenarian Forum, announced that Bertoletto had been granted pending status.
As of today, Andrée Bertoletto resides in Montsurs, Mayenne, Pays de la Loire, France, at the remarkable age of 112 years. She currently holds the title of the second-oldest known living person in Pays de la Loire and the second-oldest known living person in France, following Marie-Rose Tessier.
