Biography
Alicia Corveleyn was born in Oostende, West Flanders, Belgium, on January 8, 1905. Born and rooted in Oostende, Belgium, she lived a life etched with the tapestry of history and resilience. Her journey began amidst the chaos of World War I when her family sought refuge in the United Kingdom, only to return to their homeland in 1918.
A skilled seamstress, Alicia dedicated her talents to the artistry of crafting garments, weaving threads of creativity and skill. In 1936, she wove the most significant thread of her life by marrying Fernand van den Berghe, with whom she shared a profound companionship until his passing in 1983. Their union, though childless, was a testament to a love that endured the sands of time.
