Rosie Cook, Alabama’s oldest known living resident passes away at 112

The GRG is saddened to announce the passing of Rosa Mae Cook at age 112.
Rosie, as she was known, was born in Goodwater, Coosa County, Alabama and resided in the general area for her whole life. She was born May 24 1912 to Lewis McKinney and Georgeanna Ingram. Rosie married twice, with her first marriage being fairly short. At age 30 she married Kamron Cook and had several children, of which two survived into adulthood. Rosie was widowed in 1965 and later moved in with her daughter, Ruth, living out her days in Sylacauga, Talladega County, Alabama.
Rosie passed away on February 8 2025, aged 112 years, 260 days, as confirmed by Community Funeral Home.
