The GRG also announces today the age validation of Florence Mary Canonic, nee Lyon. Florence, known as Floss or Flossie to those who knew her, was born February 8th 1902 in Hyde Park, Cache County, Utah, to George and Sarah Alice Lyon. On August 4th 1927, aged 25, Florence married Bert C Canonic in Carson, Nevada. They reportedly had seven children together. Bert sadly passed away in 1992, leaving Florence a widow – after which she did not remarry. Florence passed away in a hospital in Temple City, Los Angeles, California, on December 25th 2012, aged 110 years, 321 days.
Florence’s age was verified by Anson Davis, Robert Young and Waclaw Jan Kroczek. This was accepted as valid by the GRG with a retroactive date of October 31st 2016.
