The Gerontology Research Group (GRG) is delighted to confirm that Mrs. Tomiko Itooka of Japan, born May 23, 1908, aged 115, has been confirmed as the new Doyenne of Japan by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare.

Tomiko Itooka inherited the honorable title following the passing of 116-year old Fusa Tatsumi of Kashiwara City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

芦屋市在住 １１５歳の糸岡富子さんが国内最高齢に

１２日に大阪 柏原市に住む１１６歳の女性が亡くなったことに伴い、芦屋市に住む１１５歳の女性が国内最高齢となりました。
芦屋市によりますと、国内最高齢になったのは市内に住む１１５歳の糸岡富子（いとおか とみこ）さんです。
糸岡さんは明治４１年５月２３日生まれの女性で、現在は芦屋市内の高齢者施設で暮らしているということです。
１２日の朝、１１６歳で国内最高齢だった大阪 柏原市の巽フサ（たつみ ふさ）さんが亡くなり、糸岡さんが国内最高齢になったということです。
